27 Things I’ve Learned in my 27 Years of Life

March 14, 2016 by akingsmith@gmail.com

I’m 27 today. Like my 26th, 25th and all the birthdays before this one, I realize that I don’t know it all. I don’t have all the answers to why we’re here, where we came from, what we should be doing, etc. All I know is what I’ve lived thus far. I am not wise beyond my years, and I certainly don’t think I’m better than any readers out there. I am just a 27 year old girl sharing what I’ve learned in my 27 years of life.

The Frustrations of Creating Stuff

December 18, 2015 by akingsmith@gmail.com

The other day I sat down to write a blog post, and I immediately had the idea of updating my readers on where I am at with my journey in Atlanta.

I’ll talk about adjusting and how we all do it, I thought to myself.

Easy-peasy.

I sat down to write it and nothing came.  [Read more…] about The Frustrations of Creating Stuff

FOMP: Fear of Meeting People

November 13, 2015 by akingsmith@gmail.com

On my first full day in ATL, I went on Meetup and signed up for a bunch of groups. I joined hiking groups, dinner groups, social get togethers, etc., and then I slowly watched event after event go by without attending. I had an excuse almost every time.

My 26

February 20, 2015 by akingsmith@gmail.com

This time last year, I wrote a blog post from the Galapagos Islands entitled “My 25”. I’ve decided to do the same thing this year, as I move into the 26th year of my life. My 26th birthday was significantly different than my 25th birthday. This year, I spent my morning working, followed by a trip to the gym, followed by a homemade dinner with Ryan. It definitely wasn’t glamorous, yet it was no less special than my 25th birthday. [Read more…] about My 26

2015: A new year

January 3, 2015 by akingsmith@gmail.com

As we enter into 2015, I have begun to reminisce about this last year and how amazing it was. 2014 began with a lot of change for me, as Ryan and I moved out of the apartment we had called home for 2 years, quit the jobs we had worked for 2 years and had become quite comfortable in, said goodbye to our friends and family and caught a flight to Bogota, Colombia. We left behind our “normal” lives in search of something different, and in hopes of finding something more from life. [Read more…] about 2015: A new year

NaNoWriMo!

November 1, 2014 by akingsmith@gmail.com

It’s November 1, and that means that it is officially the start of National Novel Writing Month, or NaNoWriMo. Being that I am completely and utterly crazy, I have decided to sign up. So with that, I will be focusing on what will hopefully be a novel a month from now, and my blog is moving to the back burner. But don’t worry, I’ll be back December 1! Wish me luck & thanks for reading 🙂
